Mom's typing test

103 words

Speed test

I thought the keyboard was going to break in two! I'm now officially to ashamed to post my own speed.

Heart Apron

This is the front of the apron that Rachel has been diligently working on for the past week.
The back...
...and the bib area on the front of the apron.
I (aka sourpatch) am now a co-poster of Southern Knit Wit. I am probably going to be doing most of the posting, while Rachel does the crafting. I want Rachel to make me one of these, except probably in blue or green. Maybe both. I'm thinking polka dots, yeah!
The apron actually looks better in real life than in the pictures, but oh well.
The pattern is Butterick 6567 view A. It has a vintage flair to it. She didn't make her own binding, she's saving that for the next apron. Instead, she used 3 packs of extra wide double-fold bias tape.

Quilt Blocks

I'm finally done!!! I made a potholder/hotpad thing out of quilt blocks. I am doing this as part of a 4-H demonstration/interview that I am extremely nervous about. I am going to tie in the different blocks to different leadership qualities. Anyways, it took about four hours to do this. That's right at least FOUR hours! And it's only about 8 inches square. I'm kind of proud of it though! I doubt I'll use it, but then again, I just might. The interview is tomorrow, and I still don't know what I'm going to talk about. Shame on my procrastinating again! :)
P.S. I tried to get the gray part off three times, sorry.

Another Butterfly

Another tatted object done! Another butterfly this time. It didn't take a whole lot of time. The pattern is here.

Tatting

I finally learned to tat! Tatting is very similar to crocheting, except it uses a shuttle (instead of a hook) and it produces a more delicate finished project. (It actually sound like I know what I'm doing there, doesn't it! :)) Anyway, here is a picture of something I finished last night.

Angels

I finally got my second angel blocked (that means flattened) and stiffened. I thought my first one looked quite nice, but apparently I was sadly mistaken. The first one looks....... I don't know, decrepit or something. For those of you that are interested, here is a link to the pattern:

P.S. The one on the left is the first one.

Snowgal

Zach and I made a snowgal (feminine form of snowman :))

Snow!

We got about 3" of snow yesterday. It's deeper in some spots. It's really fluffy instead of not icy. Whenever it snows Mom and I just have got to get out in it. Last time it snowed we went to get a brownie mix! Mom said it's like sledding for adults. All this may not seem like a big deal to anybody from up north, but I can only remember the snow sticking 3 times ever!
